Rooted in Purpose: How Valerie Morris is Strengthening the Heartbeat of Snyder ISD

When Valerie Morris and her family moved to Snyder, Texas, they found more than just a place to live—they discovered a community that welcomed them, supported them, and ultimately became home. Over a decade later, Valerie isn’t just a part of Snyder ISD—she’s a cornerstone of its story, serving as the district’s Public Information Officer and a passionate advocate for public education.

With a strong background in corporate marketing and communications, Valerie brought a strategic eye and fresh perspective to Snyder ISD. But what transformed a job into a calling was the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a community that embraced her family. “One of the reasons we chose a smaller community was because we believed we could make a difference,” she shares. “And in Snyder, you can see that impact every single day.”

Valerie’s role bridges the district and the wider Snyder community. From keeping families informed and connected to celebrating student and staff achievements, she ensures the powerful work happening within Snyder ISD is seen, heard, and valued.

“Telling the story of what’s happening here is my favorite part of the job,” she says. And there’s a lot to celebrate. With more than 2,300 students, Snyder ISD offers a rich blend of academics, fine arts, athletics, and career and technical education programs that prepare students for success in school—and in life. Valerie plays a key role in showcasing that value, not just to parents, but to business leaders, community partners, and future families considering calling Snyder home.

Whether she’s sharing a behind-the-scenes look at a robotics competition or leading communications on a district-wide initiative, Valerie’s work is rooted in the belief that public schools are at the heart of strong communities. “Snyder ISD isn’t just where students learn—it’s where futures are built.”

One standout moment for her was leading the effort to rename the football stadium in honor of legendary coach and Snyder alumnus Grant Teaff. It wasn’t just a celebration of the past—it was a unifying event that reminded the town of its shared pride and purpose.

In an ever-evolving educational landscape, Valerie’s approach blends her marketing expertise with a deep commitment to transparency and innovation. “Technology has changed how we communicate, and that’s a good thing,” she notes. “We want to meet families where they are, and ensure our students are equipped for whatever the future holds.”

What began as a new chapter for her family has become a mission—one deeply intertwined with the future of Snyder ISD. Valerie’s dedication to connection, clarity, and community continues to make a lasting difference every day.

She can’t imagine being anywhere else—and neither can Snyder ISD.
